So after a year or so back in Gainesville Ga. my wife took me on a road trip to where her family lives or at least many of her family members. She has a huge family scattered about the states but this trip took us to a city she wanted me to see. Not thinking much about it I was like sure let’s go but I did not know what was waiting on me. After arriving in Greenville S.C. I was introduced to a city that by far was the best city I have ever been exposed too. As we where walking down Main Street with the buildings hovering above me and coming into contact with a homeless man who after seeing my white beard it seemed to give him hope of a ancient prophet which I am not. Needless to say this place was a special place and it was speaking to me or at least something was speaking to me and I randomly said “I Could Live Here” as a artist as a man of compassion to my brothers and sisters on the street it had everything I could ask for in a city and that before I even discovered the “Village” on the west side a place catering to artist like myself. I was in love with these streets of concrete and hints of nature throughout.
So after coming back to Gainesville Ga. I had to come back to reality but not knowing my wife also was having this same pull to this city we just encountered together my first time hers many times but we both had the same feelings inside of this place and how it seemed to be calling our name AND within just 2 days we where planning to move and yes we are here in Greenville living in a century old industrial factory and am working part-time to help pay for a studio spot just a mile or so down the road from our loft and her dream job I think awaits just around the corner.
So get ready for those who have known me for years and know my art and that I been absent from my creative soul am now back and am back with a burning desire to become the best artist my Lord wants me to be and also a new direction in my art as a “Mixed Media Assemblage Artist.
Get ready am coming like a Viking on a Pint of Goats Milk ;)
